Project – Adding Rules (Stage 3)

Reviewing the Board Game

From my previous peer review (stage 2), I got valuable feedback to make my game better. Overall my peers suggested adding more comedic aspects and more negative game tiles (such as losing a star, missing a turn, etc.). Due to the feedback I received, I reviewed my board game and added some new features:

  • Go on the %$@*! to Brexit Bus – Avoid the Riot
  • Purpose Chequer’s Deal – Go back to the Riot tile.

I also moved some game tiles around to make the game more challenging, which combats the quick pace of the game. The rules are based on the game tiles of the boardgame, the player will discover these tiles while playing the game. The rules are set out to slow the players down from getting to their goal, it also makes the game more challenging.

Rules

I’ve added some new rules to the board game, I think it makes the board more cohesive and comedic. I think there’s still some room for improvement but I feel like my board game is starting to come together.

The game tiles determine the pace of the game:

  • Blank – Nothing Happens
  • Dancing Theresa May – Take another Turn
  • Star – In-game collectable (Collect 6 to Win)
  • Border Issues – Lose 1 Star
  • Food Shortage – Miss a Turn
  • Riot – Loop Around
  • %$@*! To Brexit Bus – Avoid the Protest
  • Purpose Chequer’s Deal – Go back to the Riot Tile
