Stage 6: Playtest 3

Review 1 – Student 1

My first play tester didn’t have many critiques, he said that I should number the tiles and add more illustrations and colour. He said that he enjoyed the pace of the game and didn’t find it too challenging. He also mentioned that I should find a way to have more strategy elements.

My Thoughts: I agree with all of his critiques. Adding numbers to the game tiles was mentioned in a previous playtest but I was struggling to find the space to add them, it will likely be easier to do whenever I make an online version of my board game. I would also like to add some strategic elements to the game but I have to brainstorm on what those elements would be.

Review 2 – Student 2

My second play tester had a lot of positives to say about my game. Some of the positives he mentioned was that he liked the map, he liked the goal and he enjoyed the boss/mini boss element. He said there’s some issues with the points system and playability as a solo-player game.

My Thoughts: I appreciate receiving the positive feedback, and I do agree on the points system having some flaws in solo-player. Throughout my board game creation, I haven’t kept in mind that it’s a solo-player game for now so I was adding multi-player elements.

Review 3 – Student 3

My third play tester suggested that I make stars/points more prominent, he gave an example which is if you get a bomb, you lose double points etc. He suggested adding more strategy and perks to the board game and maybe adding some more mini-bosses.

My Thoughts: My third play-tester offered a lot of useful information. I do think my game needs more strategy, but I feel that’ll be easier to implement when it’s in multiplayer, it could be player vs player.
