For the module Ludology and Gameplay, we were assigned to create a Brexit-themed game through using Game Maker Studio. We followed a tutorial to get the basic structure of an asteroids game, and from this we changed aspects of the game to make it about Brexit.
My final game is called “Brexit Invaders” as it plays on the game “Space Invaders” name.

The player plays as Jean Claude Juncker in a spaceship, and he shoots as main figures of Brexit such as Theresa May, Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson. The player gains points by destroying the Brexit figures (10 points per figure) and the player must get 1000 points to win. The player also has 3 lives which are represented by stars in the top left corner.
I’m pretty satisfied with the current version of my game, if I were to add onto my current game, I would like roles. The player would be able to pick to be a ‘Brexiteer’ or and ‘Remainer’ in the menu.
This would add dynamics to the game and it would make it more interesting for the player, although it would be difficult for me to create at this time because I feel I need more experience in Game Maker.
